Bring Alyssa to speak to you!
I am an experienced speaker to organizational, educational, fundraising, and church audiences about trauma, emotions, resilience, widowhood, grief, relationships, parenting, military, suffering, joy, and love.
Alyssa Gavulic is a gold star widow, a grieving mother, psychotherapist, and counselor educator who has devoted years of her life to researching trauma and resilience.
Alyssa is Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who also has her PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision from Liberty University. She completed her dissertation on “Examining the Effect of Parental Attachment, Emotional Maturity, Spiritual Maturity, and View of Suffering on Sense of Coherence” and is part of a research team that is investigating the various dimensions of resilience as they apply to a variety of life experiences and populations
Alyssa has an extensive background working with individuals, couples, and families within the military, veteran, widow, and bereavement populations. Her expertise in these areas comes from her education and training as well as her personal experiences. She is now the director of Omnia Trauma Healing Institute in Niceville, FL and practices as a psychotherapist that specializes in resiliency, complex trauma, emotions, existential/spiritual issues, personality and dissociative disorders, marriage and family therapy, military unique stressors, suicide assessment/prevention, forgiveness, and complicated bereavement counseling.
Alyssa brings her story of overcoming adversity and holding onto hope in the midst of several life-altering losses as a speaker to a variety of audiences. Her wisdom is shared with the articulation of a researcher scholar and advanced practitioner while still conveying the vulnerability and authenticity of being a wife who lost her Special Forces husband to a parachute training accident, a mother who lost her 2 ½-year-old daughter to drowning, a sister who lost her brother to suicide and then lost another brother to homicide all within the 2 ½ year time period.
Alyssa’s message of facing deep waves of grief while still finding the beauty and joy inherent in each moment will both enrich and inspire you.
